Colon pitched eight innings for his 200th career victory, Travis dArnaud homered and the New York Mets held on for a 5-4 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies. Daniel Murphy recorded his fifth straight multihit game with two singles for the Mets, who have won 10 of their last 11 games in Philadelphia. New York has outscored Philadelphia 63-32 during those contests. Marlon Byrd homered, Grady Sizemore drove in two runs and hot-hitting Ben Revere had two of the Phillies nine hits. Revere is batting a major league-best .388 since June 26. The 41-year-old Colon joined Pedro Martinez and Juan Marichal as the only Dominican-born pitchers to reach 200 victories. "Im really happy to be in that category," Colon said through an interpreter. "Im expecting a call from those guys." He gave up one run and six hits, struck out six and walked none. "Its amazing that hes still able to perform like he does," Mets manager Terry Collins said. "Two hundred wins, thats a lot of wins." Colon (11-9) didnt allow a batter to reach second base except for Byrd, who led off the seventh with a drive over the wall in left for his 22nd homer. Colon departed after throwing 107 pitches. "He throws a lot of fastballs but he changes speeds with them making it difficult to gauge the velocity," Phillies manager Ryne Sandberg said. Philadelphias A.J. Burnett (6-12) surrendered 11 hits, tying a season high, resulting in five runs in his third consecutive loss. The right-hander struck out eight and walked two while falling to 0-4 with a 6.66 ERA in his last five starts. The Mets nearly blew it in the ninth, when Philadelphia scored three runs on three hits. Chase Utley doubled and Ryan Howard walked against left-hander Dana Eveland. Closer Jenrry Mejia relieved Eveland and Byrd singled to load the bases. Sizemore then lined a two-run double off the wall in right that trimmed New Yorks lead to 5-3. "I was praying for the ball to stay in the ballpark," Colon said. "Thanks to Mejia for doing his job and holding his composure on the mound." Right fielder Curtis Granderson made a diving catch on Carlos Ruizs sinking liner to save at least one run for the first out. "That really saved us," Collins said. After Cody Asche had a run-scoring groundout, Mejia struck out pinch-hitter Reid Brignac for his 17th save in 19 opportunities. The Mets got on the board in the fourth inning, with Juan Lagares, Wilmer Flores, Granderson and Murphy each driving in a run. DArnauds eighth homer in the fifth put New York ahead 5-0. The only spot where Colon struggled was the batters box, where the historically poor hitter went 0 for 4 with four strikeouts - two of which came on failed sacrifice attempts. A career .087 hitter entering Friday, Colons averaged dipped to .043 with 28 strikeouts in 46 at-bats this season. The knee felt "really good," Vonn said as she scrambled for the warmth of the lodge following the bitterly cold workout session. "Everything is good," said Vonn, whos preparing to defend her downhill title at the Sochi Olympic in three months. "I feel fresh and training hard. Everything is perfect." The 29-year-old Vonn shredded her anterior cruciate and medial collateral ligaments in a crash at the world championships in Schladming last February, but has progressed much faster than anticipated. She even thought about competing at the season-opening race in Soelden, Austria, on Oct. 26, only to skip it to give her knee more time to recover. Asked if there were any regrets about sitting out that competition, Vonn said: "I was definitely disappointed. Its hard to say no for me. But I felt like I needed more time." Vonn treated the morning workout almost like she would a training session at a World Cup stop. Run after run, she pulled a journal out of her bag and jotted down notes about her equipment. Once finished, she slipped into a different set of skis and headed back up the lift for another pass. "I just felt good ... for my first day of downhill," said Vonn, who lives in nearby Vail.
